The east side of Oahu has an astonishing coastline and the absolute beaches. My favorite way to get the most out of my time on the weekend is to camp on one of these beach campsites. The accompanying campgrounds are a couple of my top picks on the east shore. Roars ocean side park in Waimanalo. Kualoa ocean side situated close to Kahaluu town. Swanzy and Kahana ocean side situated close to Kaaawa town lastly Malakaehana situated in Laie town.

Bellows Beach Park is located at 41-043 Kalaniana'ole Highway. The camp sites are located in the Bellows Air Force Base, which is an active military training base. Since the campgrounds are used by the military during the week, camping is only available from Friday noon to Monday 8 AM. The enormous pine trees, shield the campgrounds from wind blasts, early morning and late night downpours. The beach is also one of the widest beaches on the east side of Oahu. There is plenty of sand and very few people, when contrasted with Waikiki, so you should have no trouble finding your own patch of sand. Just be on the lookout for portuguest man or war or jellyfish.

Swanzy Beach Park is located at 51-369 Kamehameha Highway. The camp sites are located off of the main Kamehameha Highway. Park is open for normal public access. The camp sites are available for camping from Friday Noon to Monday. My number one part of this campsite is that it is situated opposite 7-11 which works 24 hours. This makes it simple to walk to the store to buy food/drinks whenever and go to your camping area.

Kualoa beach is the most beautiful campground in my opinion. As a photographer I come here to photograph the sunrise over the offshore islet called China Man's hat. It is also an extraordinary area to swim in the safeguarded waters. Some people also like to kayak out to China Man's Hat. You will see why it is called China Man's Hat, when you get to this park.
