I think you're looking at the game in a different way, perhaps.
I'm having fun. I'm not looking forward to dying but I do expect it . What happens if it doesn't and I do, what happens? Overwhelming satisfaction. The only thing I'm not is when I'm dead due to this scenario. The only occasion that I'm furious is when I'm stuck, however that's usually my responsibility.
There's a learning curve to be sure.
Someone who's new to the game and haven't had any training on the game is likely to be stomped by a goblin, beetle or skelly right off the bat. It doesn't matter how skilled they are in games in general, it's sure to happen very early into your career playing this game. Once you've played a few rounds you start to learn about things . Besides, you don't have any advantages when you first start out. I'm convinced that the majority of people who are complaining about the game didn't play Skyrim (which does not have anything to do with this, I'm simply comparing it to Skyrim because:) you are pretty inadequate at the start of the game. After you've put some time in to it, you'll start to become better , and you're able to move up, and gaining benefits. It's pretty well the same with the game, except that the leveling is a bit slower. Actually, I believe that the mobs in both games share the same attack strategy, which once you've learned it in practice, you'll be able to escape the threat, take with a few strikes, and block the attacker.
Practice makes perfect? I dunno, my 8-year old daughter was playing on a Barbarian playing the best time of her life lol. It depends on how you look at the game. If you're always seeking to winwinwin, it may not really be ideal for you and if you're doing that so, kudos! But for the most part I've seen players wearing red gear ???? up a few steps and get bodied, losing all their equipment, unless someone gets it from their team. As they're furious, they just shrug and begin playing again. If you want to learn more about Dark And Darker, please vist https://www.mmoexp.com/Dark-and-darker/Gold.html
