Dearest Prophet Muhammad, Peace be with you...for I seek you in spirit and in truth with every ounce of my humanity and soul for you are a messenger of God.  ‘Allahumma, salli ‘ala Muhammad wa al-e-Muhammad.’   If permitted, I wish to draw near to you with a humble, reverent heart...forgive me for I know not the ways to suitably enter the essence of your presence for my faith is founded in my Lord, Jesus Christ.  So, I remain still in my solitude, quiet in my soul, perfectly peaceful in my mind and meditate on your wisdom with understanding and love.

I have sought you and desired to know you because you hold an undisputed influence over the hearts of billions of mankind.  I have read your words and have meditated on your wisdom and found that your teaching is noble and good.  I mean no insolence or contempt.  I recognize that I am but a single drop of rain in a sea of spiritual consciousness and yet I wish to approach and commune with you.  With great awareness, I see no dread in the richness of your wisdom…only universal truth and I am comforted by the parrallels between our two distinctly different paths of rich universal understandings.  I take solace in the sacred and divine wisdom of your ancient teachings as it corresponds with the foundation of my spiritual beginnings founded in Christianity.  If I may so justify some commonalities between us…

Your wisdom says “Allah will not give mercy to anyone, except those who give mercy to other creatures.”  My fundamental path tells me “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.”  And I see that we have mercy in common.

Your wisdom proclaims “What actions are most excellent? To gladden the heart of human beings, to feed the hungry, to help the afflicted, to lighten the sorrow of the sorrowful, and to remove the sufferings of the injured.” My path instructs…“You shall not harden your heart or shut your hand against your poor brother but you shall open your hand to him and lend him sufficient for his need, whatever it may be…”  And so, helping the poor and the afflicted is a shared understanding.

Your wisdom is blameless when you teach “The most excellent Jihad is to battle your own soul. To fight the evil within yourself.” And the path of my heart harmonizes and says “A man who wars with others is lost but a  man who wars with himself is found.”  And…“Better a patient man than a warrior, a man who controls his temper than one who takes a city.”  It is well understood that it is good for a man to conquer himself rather than conquering others.

When your wisdom decrees “It is difficult for a man laden with riches to climb the steep path, that leads to bliss."  The wisdom of Jesus acquiesces and says “It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” It is agreed that it is difficult to feel a deep need for Allah or God if we put our faith in the material rather than the spiritual.

And even though many, on both sides of our religion, will declare our differences... you proclaim that “Kindness is a mark of faith, and whoever is not kind has no faith.” And I rejoice because my path affirms “And be kind to one another, compassionate, forgiving one another just as God has forgiven you….” And both truths abound, universally.  Kindness is necessary for all mankind.

I praise your prudence when you teach “Verily, Allah is mild and is fond of mildness, and He gives to the mild what He does not give to the harsh.”  And the spirit of my path proclaims “Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.” And again I express an inner joy of the congruence of both truths.  Humility and meakness have great rewards in the kingom of God.

Your spiritual understanding is beyond wise when you teach “The strong man is not the one who can wrestle someone else down. The strong man is the one who can control himself when he is angry.”  And my pathway to such wisdom has taught me  “Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, for man's anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires.” And so it’s universal…unbridled Anger is folly.

And when it comes to being content your wisdom says “Be content with that which Allah has given you and you will be the richest of people.” And my christian path says “Be content with what you have, for God has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” And so contentment is a pathway to universal riches both within and without.

Once more the beauty of your teaching is paramount when you say  “You will not enter paradise until you have faith; and you will not complete your faith till you love one another.”  And as I meditate on this truth the scripture of my path accedes “Let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.  Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.” And we again agree that Love is powerfully universal and a pathway to paradise.

Your wisdom rings universally true and all who embrace and live by it can, no doubt, live in peace.  These are only a few common examples out of hundreds that have elevated my understanding and affection for you and those that love you.  Your prophetic messages and teaching corresponds with the fundamental wisdom of my foundational spiritual path in christianity which has created within me a sanctuary of thoughtful awareness.  In no small way, a Kaaba of elevated consciousness opens its doors within me to a common refuge that allows us to commune with one another in spirit and in truth so long as we search within our hearts with humility, mutual admiration and a deepening respect.

My Christian prayer is that both our distinct ancient and sacred faiths through a profound and richly personal understanding of what lies within can and will assist us in bringing to the world the absolute beauty of a common mercy, a common benevolence, a common self-discovery, a common kindness, a common self-control, a common contentment and most of all…a common love. A love that transcends all theologies, all tribal religions, philosophies, all fears, all prejudices and all vanity and pride.  A love that unifies our HUMANITY and will one day  emphatically proclaim…

We Are One.

Amen

“If we want to live perfectly harmonious and happy lives...we must first drive out our selfish character tendencies such as pride, ego, vanity, jealousy, lusts, envy and worry. When we learn to live selflessly, putting others before ourselves, committing to what is noble, right and good; treating others with love and compassion...that is when true happiness is experienced.  A genuine focus on selflessness cures all and creates an environment for true growth. It's the secret to every great relationship. We gain...when we give up self. Sacrificing one's selfish characteristics through diligent thought, meditation, prayer and action gives life to true love and abounding joy. ” ? Jason VerseyA Walk with Prudence
