QBWC1085: QuickBooks was unable to write to the log file. QuickBooks will open without writing to log file.

QBWC1085: There was a problem with the log file. QuickBooks Web Connector will continue without the log file

This error can be caused due to various other factors, which we are going to talk about later in this post, along with the solution steps that can be performed to tackle such an error. Steps to fix the issue

If the user hasn’t connected QuickBooks to any third-party programs, then simply removing Web Connector from the Startup menu is suggested. This can be done as follows:

·         The first step is to log in as Windows administrator.

·         After that head to C:\ProgramData\ Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup.

·         The next step is to delete the QuickBooks Web Connector.

·         The user should then restart the computer and open QuickBooks.

In case the user hasn’t connected your data file to a third-party application that uses Web Connector, then the user would want Web Connector to stay in the Startup menu. In this situation, one can rename the QWCLOG.TXT file to resolve the error. This can be done as follows:

·         The first step is to close completely out of QuickBooks and Web Connector.

·         And the head to C:\ProgramData\Intuit\QBWebConnector\log.

·         After that change the name of the QWCLOG.TXT to QWCLOGOLD.TXT.

·         The user should reopen Web Connector.

·         Restart the computer then open QuickBooks and login to your third-party application.
