Cloudflare is a free service which protects you against DDOS attacks. But, they also use captcha system to detect bots and automated requests for pages on their network. This can be annoying while accessing sites with Cloudflare DNS or CDN enabled like: Reddit, Pinterest, GitHub and Wordpress hosted blogs/sites (which is most likely using Cloudflare for DNS).

This captcha is only applicable when you try to access above sites directly. For example: If you are not logged into Pinterest, then it will show captcha on the login page. But, if you are redirected to these sites through some search engines or links then it won't show any captcha. Thus, we can access these sites without captcha by simply bypassing Cloudflare DNS using alternate DNS servers.

You might be thinking: okay, no biggie; we will use one of those public DNS provided by Google or OpenDNS and we are done. But hold on! If you use the same method then the captcha may not be removed too. Because Cloudflare is smart enough to know your real IP address and it will send you back to captcha page when you again try to access the site through alternate DNS servers. But, if you read carefully then my above statement says "alternate DNS servers" not any specific DNS server.

This tutorial will show how we can use any DNS server for Cloudflare sites to solve captcha.

There are two methods to remove Captcha from Cloudflare sites:

Method 1: Using OpenDNS IP address to access Cloudflare sites without captcha.

Paste this IP address in your computer network connection properties and replace with alternate DNS server IP address.

Method 2: Using alternate DNS servers to access Cloudflare sites without captcha.

These are some free public DNS servers which will help you remove cloudflare captcha from protected sites. This list is not ranked in any particular order and you can use them as they suit your requirements. Please note that I have tested these DNS servers only on the mentioned sites and the captcha has been removed successfully.

If you don't like to use third party DNS servers then there is one more option which can be helpful to solve captcha issue with Cloudflare sites and this method uses Google's public DNS servers without changing your computer network connection properties. Just follow the steps mentioned below to do that.

1. Open Command Prompt with administrative privileges by right clicking on the start menu icon and click "Command Prompt (admin)". Or simply search cmd in the start menu search box and hit Ctrl+Shift+Enter keys together to launch command prompt as administrator.

2. Now type this command followed by enter key where the highlighted part is your current DNS server addresses.

3. Once you have completed the above steps use these new Google's public DNS servers to access Cloudflare sites without captcha.
