What is UPSC/IAS Exam?

IAS is abbreviated as Indian Administration Services officially also known as Civil Services is conducted by UPSC i.e. (Union Public Service Commission). IAS was earlier known as the Imperial Civil Services (ICS) and is considered to be the hardest competitive exam in India. IAS is one of the highest administrative posts among the 24 services like IPS, IFS, etc.

IAS Exam Highlights

Annually, the UPSC conducts a civil Services Exam to shortlist the candidates for the recruitment of IAS, IPS, IFS, and other allied services. On average around more than 8,00,000 candidates apply for the IAS exam and around 5,00,000 appear for the examination. Exam type is based on offline mode only.
