SMO 254 Properties
SMO 254 is an austenitic stainless steel with excellent resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion. They can also resist general and stress corrosion, as well as cracking occurrences. SMO 254 is superior to other typical austenitic stainless steels due to its high material strength. Furthermore, the material grade has a high welding capacity.
These are the goods that are effective in halide solutions with chloride and bromide ions present. Local corrosion owing to pitting, crevices, and stress is visible in the SMO 254 grade. SMO 254 is a low-carbon-element material. Because of the low carbon content, there is a reduced chance of carbide precipitation during welding activation.
SMO 254 Tube Fittings are simple to install and require no additional torque. The gas inspection gauge assures adequate pull-up at initial installation.
